  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 4 pieces bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs About 2 to 2 1/2 pounds.
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil Can substitute with canola or vegetable oil.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the paprika, smoked paprika, kosher salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir these ingredients together to form a fragrant spice mix.
  • Pat the chicken thighs dry on both sides with paper towels. Add the chicken to the bowl with the spice mixture, drizzle with olive oil, and toss until evenly coated.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Arrange the seasoned chicken thighs in a single layer, skin-side down. Air fry for 16 to 22 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  • Check that the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit before removing them from the fryer.
  • Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pat the chicken dry for crispy skin. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer and monitor cooking times as they may vary. Let chicken rest before serving for juiciness.
